I was reading on wikipedia regarding the MCAT, and I came across something saying that it's not really based on correct answers on the multi-choice questions, but rather checked over for critical thinking/logic/etc. <br /><br />Is this correct? If not, could someone help me out?<br />

There is a bit of truth in your question. The computer based MCAT works as follows. The test is made up of three sections. As you being each section the more correct answers you get the harder the questions become. When the computer determines you have answered enough correct questions it ends that section of the test. Therefore, there is no set amount of time that it should take to complete each section. There are stories of people finishing in less that 30 min.

This is based on a critical thinking and logic based intelligent software. The true test of MCAT is to determine if the person has a firm understanding of the sciences and math. If you do, let's say a GPA of 3.8 or greater in biological science degree program, MCAT is going to be just another test to you.

Do not get all worked up over taking MCAT. Buy a review book, take a practice test and see what your score is. If it is over 30, go take the real test. If it is below 30 look into take a Kaplan review course. Should you score below 20, look into another career field, medical school is not in the cards for you.
