I am a dental student in Russia.i would like to work in Uk as a dentist. i will finish my studies next year. so after that i will givw IQE . after giving IQE if i do not get a job my time will be wasted.so i wanna confirm the work opportunity.please advice me.<br />

Decades ago the dental profession disintegrated in the UK. Low pay, poor quality entering the profession. A nation of pus mouths and dentures so they say. The job you get will be a government job, apply through the national health service.

at the moment for iqe dentists job is anightmare.eventhough there is a shortage of dentists,you have to undergo voctional training .if u r eu citizen or married to eu citizen it is rather easy if u have 2 years experiene in an eu country.
it is a long process for iqe dentist ,find an employer,get a workpermit-usually they are not ready- apply to primary care trust for a performer number,they will contact the relevent dearery,they assess your qualifcation and experience and fix a VT training,visit your employer,practice and give permission to train under him.
it is a complicated procedure for overseas candidates.
mean while for an eu dentist no barriers ,eventhough they have to prove their language efficiency -but no body has followed the rule- without it also they get ajob

your chances are limited,but u have time and money you can try..

Examination for Overseas Qualified Dentists

The Overseas Registration Examination (ORE) tests the clinical skills and knowledge of dentists from outside the EEA whose qualifications are not recognised for full registration with the General Dental Council. Candidates are tested against the standard expected of graduate dentists on first registation with the GDC. This means that UK graduates and overseas dentists are expected to have the same basic level of knowledge and skills.

The ORE replaces the International Qualifying Examination (IQE) which will be phased out over a period through transitional arrangements for current IQE candidates.

The examination is based on the UK dental curriculum and uses modern assessment methods to ensure a robust and consistent examination. Dentists who pass this examination become eligible to apply for full registration to practise in the UK.
