I am writing an article for Reader's Digest India, about how dental check-ups are important and can sometimes even save lives.
In the article I want to illustrate the usefulness of dental checkups with two real life examples from India.
1. about someone who neglected a tooth ache or some niggling dental problem, and later the infection escalated to such an extent that he/she had to be hospitalised and operated upon and took some time to recover.
2. of someone who went to a dentist complaining about a lump inside the mouth. The dentist refers the patient to a periodontist who thinks the growth harmless but nevertheless sends it for testing. The oral pathologist diagnoses it as cancer and the patient is ultimately cured.
If you have come across such cases in India, I would be very keen on getting in touch with the patient and featuring it in the article. My email id is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
