Which is better: TOEFEL or IELTS?
English is my second language and I intend to get an English proficiency exam. I notice that IELTS is more commonly used in the US than in New Zealand. What is the difference?<br />

Which is better: TOEFEL or IELTS?
You are right, depending on where you want to study you would either take the TOEFL or IELTS test. TOEFL is for studying in the US. IELTS test scores are usually for studying in the UK/New Zealand. Both tests have different formats and time limits, just go to the website for each one and it should tell you.
