...I have been asked to give results of Ielts examination for? processing the application. I would like to know if any one else had to go throught it and if so how long did it take to process the application and get the landing permit. If any one can give me in details how things work with the immgration also will be good.

The processing period varies in different parts of the world. If you apply from within US or Canada it takes 6-8 months whereas in certain Asia countries it can take up to 3 years. One way to speed up the process is to make sure that you give them all the required paperwork. If you are missing something it'll take them months to mail you and re-open and then re-open your case.

The provincial nomination programs is a little bit faster then the federal program but it is a bit more difficult to qualify.

As far as giving results of your lets exam it's nothing unusual. On your application you must've claimed that you had a certain knowledge of english ,hence, they are just verifying that that it is true. If you are not from an english speaking country you can't expect them to just belive you... so I wouldn't worry about it
