Foot Care - thick, cracked, hard, rough, bad shape?
So I've let me feet get into terrible shape, and now I have extremely rough heels, plus the big toes too. The skin is thick, hard and cracked, and I can't seem to get ride of it and get them soft again. I've soaked them, scrubbed them with an exfoliant, scrubbed them with this metal foot scrub I have (kinda looks like a cheese grader), keep lotion on them... nothing seems to help. Should I actually cut the hard skin off or use finger nail clippers to clip it off? Everytime I've had this problem in the past, I can never get ride of it on my big toes EVER. Will my feet ever be nice again? Thanks.

Before you go to bed slather your feet in vaseline and put a pair of cotton socks on. After the first night you will notice an improvement. Keep doing it every night for as long as it takes. And then do it like once a week as a preventive measure.

Try Amlactin from the drugstore. It's made especially for rough skin. I used it on my heels and elbows. Another good help is Cethaphil. Comes in a jar and is very inexpensive for what you get. Apply any cream several times a day, but first, dampen the feet with a warm washcloth or bath.
No, never clip off the skin. It could be a fungus. If the problem persists, see a dermatologist. Good luck. |
