How long roughly does it take for female in 20's to grow an inch of hair? Had haircut and stupid hairdresses cut lots too short. Will have to grow it out now. How long will it take to grow an inch on average? Also is there anyway i can stimulate growth eg a shampoo or massage or anything? Very sad :(

Try fishoil and gelatin.

most people will recommend prenatal vitamins but they key ingredient in the vitamins that makes youar hair and nails grow is folic acid. i had the same exact situation and i asked my doctor what could help. she said talk the 800mcg ones (there ae 500 and 800 mcg pills). They work like a charm. You can find them at any health food market (ie:mothers market or trader joes). Pureology brand hair care products offer a shampoo called "nano works" that also stimulates hair growth starting from the scalp. Hope i helped!

Your only in your 20's, so your hair growth shouldn't start slowing until a lot later.Hair should grow 1inch in 2 months but if you follow this regimen it may seem to grow faster:

To maximize growth, I would:

- Eat a protein rich diet and lots of fruits and veggies
- Try to drink at least 64 oz of water a day

- Exercise at least 3-5 times a week
- Massage the scalp at night with a drop or two of essential oils to help stimulate the hair follicles
- Sleep 7-8 hours each night
- Take a Hair, Skin and Nails vitamin to help grow stronger hair.

To retain length, I would:

- Wash and deep condition at least once a week
- Dry the hair using a low to no heat styling method
- Limit the usage of direct heat on the hair
- Moisturize nightly
- Keep the hair and ends protected during the day with loose protective styles like buns, twists, French rolls and twists
