how would grad programs view a drastic improvement in my GRE scores?
the first time i took it about 3 months ago, i got a 930. 470 on the quantative and a 460 on the verbal. i took it last week and the scores that the computer showed me were 690 for the quantative and 520 for the verbal. so that's a score of 1210 so far which is the range i wanted for my grad programs. how would the admissions directors view my drastic improvement since both scores are going to be reported? would the fact that i did so poorly early affect my standing?<br />

While the schools you report to will still see every result you've gotten, your better score will essentially overwrite the bad one. Admissions is only interested in your best result, and the fact that you had to retake it once won't reflect poorly on you.
