what are competant gre scores for graduate studies in science at the Ivy League schools?
GRE General?
Verbal should be about 650 or more and Math should be over 750. In response to your edit: What you have to understand is that the math is high school math. Relatively basic HS math. So, you'll find that a lot of your competition will be at 750 or above. But test scores in and of themselves aren't the whole story at grad school admissions. Talk to the schools you are interested in, and find out if your score is within the middle 50% of what they admitted last year. Schools will generally divulge that information if you ask for it in a general way (i.e., what's the middle 50% range for GRE scores?). If it is, you're OK. If not, then you'll need to have something good elsewhere in the application to compensate, or consider retaking the test. |
