Is the maximum GRE score 1600? is the writing counted in the score or seperately?<br />The PhD in Education program I waould like to get into wants 1000 on the general GRE, does that mean I can get a 670 and 330, or do they want a more even score of 500 and 500?<br />

Three scores are reported on the General Test:

* a Verbal Reasoning score reported on a 200-800 score scale, in 10-point increments
* a Quantitative Reasoning score reported on a 200-800 score scale, in 10-point increments, and
* an Analytical Writing score reported on a 0-6 score scale, in half-point increments

max is 1600. writing has scale of 1 to 6. and not added in this 1600. well most of the unis require total score not consider even ,odd cycle. so u has to get 1000+ in either way. but it is strongly recommended that u should be even in all cases.
