After the spring is over I will have a biology degree from a small liberal arts school in Texas and I want to go on from here to work for a pharmaceutical company. My school has no one to give me any guidance and I want to know what I should focus in on for graduate schools to apply for. I have a 1240 GRE with 760 of that being in Math and a mere 480 in verbal. Biomedical engineering? My sister is studying something like this at Cornell for grad school right now. All I know is that she was working on medicines to cure/control AIDS last time I checked.

So if you want to create new medicines or medical technology for pharmaceutical companies, maybe this is it.

You need to get a PhD in biology, chemistry , or biochemistry to make yourself marketable for a pharmaceutical or biotech company. Right now the best specialties to choose from are immunology, and cancer research as they relate highly to the products that these companies pump out.
