dental nurse to forensics?
I have just qualified as a dental nurse and now I want to start working within forensic dentistry. I cannot afford to go to college/uni full time, does anyone know how I can get into this without having to do full time education?<br />

dental nurse to forensics?
Forensic Odontology is usually the realm of a DMD, DDS or MD, but who knows, there may be courses available to RNs, too. There are a number of dental schools offering forensic courses on-line. Google Forensic Odontology to identify them.
Here's a mind warp for you--have you considered going into the military? As an RN, you would be an officer and, with your interests, you could make it a condition that you attend the Armed Services Institute of Pathology in Bethesda for their forensic dentistry program. That way, you'd be earning a good salary, get your training for free and have only a limited service requirement. I'm not a recruiter, but if you want more info, contact me off the forum and I'll be glad to help. |

You can study at university part time can't you? if not full time... You may apply through UCAS (www.ucas.com). You may be able to get a student loan whilst studying part time.
Otherwise ask the bank for a loan and study part time, and work at the same time. Have a look at: http://direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/UniversityAndHigherEducation/index.htm |
