Is there a college that specializes in...

...Forensic Sciences? And how long will it take to achieve? I appologize for not being specific. I know persuing pathology would take about 10 years or more, for me it would take longer. I don't think I'm up for studying for that long.

I'm a Nurse's Aide working in a Hospice, that is how I got interested in forensics. I want to persue something more, but unfortunately I'm going in circles.

Thanks for the info from both of you.

Little Tree, you mentioned about Medical Technologists. What type of work do Medical Techs do?

You didn''t say in what capacity that you wanted to work in. A Forensic pathologist is a Doctor, so you have to have the same pre-requisites as a regular Doctor. Forensics is a specialized feild of study beyond that. It would depend if you wanted to get a masters or PHD in that. You are talking about 10-12 years of school from beginnig to end. If you don't want to be a Pathologist, then you could consider being a Medical Technologist that specializes in Forensics. That would take you 4 yrs. of college, and at least 2 yrs. of Tech school.
It is an interesting feild, but not for the squeamish. I worked for a Forensic pathologist, and we use to stop in the middle of an autopsy with someones brain laying on the table, and eat lunch.
Much to think about. Good Luck if you decide to persue it. Like I said, and interesting feild. Defintely nothing mundane.
