if a tooth has had root treatment that has failed. is it easier to be removed as it has no nerves?
ive heard stories where the molar is difficcult to extract, but does it make a difference if it has had 2 or 3 failed root canal treatments? if there is no nerves in the tooth?
Whether the nerves are present or not has no bearing on the difficulty of an extraction other than the fact that, after the pulp dies, the tooth becomes more brittle and prone to fracturing. I would recommend an oral surgeon remove the molar in the event it does fracture.

Hello-don`t worry-I was terrified as I had a failed root canal molar that had to come out too.

That was about 2 weeks ago-and it`s the best thing I`ve done in ages !

My dentist said that it`s actually often easier for them to extract a larger tooth-as there is "more to grip" as they gently lever it loose.

Regarding pain-well yes, the nerves will be dead if you had a root canal before-but that`s not relevant-because you will be given injections to numb the whole thing when they extract it.

Trust me-I was very frightened and yet I didn`t feel any pain-and to my amazement-my tooth was out in about 3 minutes.

Good luck and try not to worry, sweety.
You`ll be absolutely fine. |
