Honestly people make a big deal out of Root Canal's and they aren't that bad no worse than a filling being done and you feel nothing!

Normally, a tooth will be sensitive after a fillling is done. More so if it was a white filling. Sometimes, it may take up to six months. But when I say sensitive I mean when you eat or drink something cold. If it hurts when you bite down on it the filling may be too high and you should go back into to the dentist to have it adjusted. If you are having pain all day and night like a throbbing pain you probably do need a root canal. Root canals can be painful and sometimes not at all. Depends on the situation and the person.

dear miss javeria, <br />
first of all , you must consult your dentist , pain after filling does not always mean that you need root canal treatment . do not worry. |

You may need the filling filing down a bit if it is too high. You can check this by gently putting your teeth together, if your teeth feel like they dont fit together then your filling is too high. Its not a problem and takes about 30 seconds and you dont need anesthetic for it. Root canal doesnt hurt as you will be anesthetised for it. If you didnt know you were having it done, you would think you were just having a filling
