Does a non custodial parent have the right...
...to switch children's dentist without asking the other parent? Non custodial parent took kids to a new dentist. Current dentist kids have seen for 3 years (first dentist). Parent said he took matters into own hands because other parent did not take them right at 6 month scheduled time. In the past he has called this dentist for info on kid's cleanings and had no issues with it.

I think the non costodial shoud have consulted the costodial parent with this issue. The bottom line is that this non costodial cares enough about the children to do this. It is a tough issue, pick your battles. At least they care for the children. It could be alot worse.

Yes they have every right to per law regardless what everyone wants to think, I dont understand what the huge issue is, come on at least they took them to a dentist! Who ever the custodial parent is needs to get off their high horse, there are alot worse things a non custodial parent can do, jeeeeeez Quit causeing drama the kid needed to go to a dentist so they took the child to the dentist, there are fathers or non custodial parents out there that dont care about their kids and act like the minumum ammount of care is just way to much for them to handle, dont pay child support, dont have medical coverage for their kids, and never even make a attempt to be a part of their kids lives....be happy that the non custodial parent is standing up and taking care of their kids at least they are showing that they care, it could be alot worse....

A non-custodial parent does not have the right to do anything without first asking the parent who has custody. This is not a question of whether or not the child or children were not taken in when they were supposed to go. Some schedules are different, and sometimes the appointments conflict with work or another reason. The non-custodial parent is just looking for an excuse to justify the reason why he did what he did, be careful he is not trying to say that your not doing your job as a parent. Which we know that if the kids have been going to the same dentist for three years , you are doing your job.
